TCP 9082
Synopsis
- IBM WebSphere Application Server often listens on TCP 9082 for an HTTP transport on additional application servers or cluster members (the first server typically uses 9080; subsequent ones commonly get 9081/9082, etc.).
- Consequently, products deployed on WebSphere—such as HCL Connections and IBM Maximo—are frequently reachable on port 9082 in real installations where multiple server instances are present.
- Many IBM Tivoli/Jazz for Service Management deployments hosted on WebSphere also expose application HTTP endpoints on 9082 in multi-node setups.
- Security note: When 9082 hosts WebSphere HTTP endpoints exposed to the internet, attackers commonly target it with exploits for known WebSphere vulnerabilities (e.g., Java deserialization/RCE flaws).
