TCP 8007 is assigned to ajp12, the Apache JServ Protocol v1.2.
It was used by Apache JServ 1.x and early Apache Tomcat (e.g., Tomcat 3.x) via the AJP12 connector.
Apache HTTP Server’s mod_jserv module communicated with the servlet engine over 8007 in such setups.
Though largely obsolete (superseded by AJP13 on 8009), some legacy systems may still expose 8007 for JServ/Tomcat integrations.
Security note: Exposed AJP connectors have historically been targets in attacks; while the Ghostcat vulnerability focused on AJP13 (8009), legacy AJP12 services on 8007 are similarly risky if left accessible and unauthenticated.
