TCP 8007
Synopsis
- TCP 8007 is assigned to ajp12, the Apache JServ Protocol v1.2.
- It was used by Apache JServ 1.x and early Apache Tomcat (e.g., Tomcat 3.x) via the AJP12 connector.
- Apache HTTP Server’s mod_jserv module communicated with the servlet engine over 8007 in such setups.
- Though largely obsolete (superseded by AJP13 on 8009), some legacy systems may still expose 8007 for JServ/Tomcat integrations.
- Security note: Exposed AJP connectors have historically been targets in attacks; while the Ghostcat vulnerability focused on AJP13 (8009), legacy AJP12 services on 8007 are similarly risky if left accessible and unauthenticated.
