TCP port 7004 is assigned to AFS3-KASERVER, the Andrew File System (AFS) Authentication Server used in classic Transarc/IBM AFS and OpenAFS deployments.
In real-world terms, legacy AFS cells (e.g., some university or enterprise OpenAFS environments) may still run the kaserver on 7004/TCP for Kerberos v4–style authentication over AFS’s RX RPC.
Many modern AFS installations have migrated away from kaserver to standard Kerberos v5 (port 88), but existing legacy AFS servers can still expose 7004.
