TCP 7002
Synopsis
- Oracle/BEA WebLogic Server: 7002/TCP is the default HTTPS (SSL) listen port for the AdminServer and managed servers; many Oracle products that embed WebLogic (e.g., Oracle Fusion Middleware components like SOA Suite and Oracle Identity Manager, and PeopleSoft PIA deployments) commonly expose their secure consoles or apps on 7002.
- OpenAFS/IBM AFS: the AFS Protection Server (afs3-prserver, aka ptserver) uses port 7002/TCP (and UDP) for user/group management within AFS cells; this is seen in real-world OpenAFS deployments at universities and research labs.
- Security note: WebLogic services on 7002 are frequently targeted for exploitation (e.g., deserialization RCEs such as CVE-2017-10271 and CVE-2019-2725), and attackers often scan 7001/7002 to find vulnerable WebLogic instances.
