TCP 2600
Synopsis
- HPSTGMGR: Hewlett-Packard/HPE storage management software has a service registered as hpstgmgr that listens on TCP 2600, seen on legacy HP StorageWorks storage management agents on Windows and HP-UX systems.
- Zebrasrv (GNU Zebra/Quagga/FRRouting): Many Linux distributions map TCP 2600 to zebrasrv; some deployments of the Zebra/Quagga/FRR routing suite expose this port alongside the more common VTY ports (2601–2608) to manage routing daemons.
- Real-world sightings include Quagga/FRR-based network appliances and lab routers, and older HP storage management servers showing 2600/tcp open in scans.
- Security: Attackers often probe 2600 within the Quagga/FRR management port range; misconfigured or weakly protected services here have been abused to alter routing or device configurations.
