Synopsis

  • UDP port 9987 is the default voice communication port for TeamSpeak 3 Server. TeamSpeak clients connect to servers over UDP 9987 for real-time VoIP, commonly used by gaming communities, esports teams, and hosted providers like Nitrado and 4Netplayers as well as self-hosted Windows/Linux servers. For example, a TeamSpeak 3 server at myguild.example.com uses UDP 9987 for voice while using TCP 10011 (ServerQuery) and TCP 30033 (file transfer) for other functions. This port is also a frequent target for UDP-based DDoS attacks aimed at knocking TeamSpeak servers offline.
