TCP 9207
Synopsis
- TCP 9207 is registered by IANA as “wap-vcal-s” (WAP vCalendar Secure).
- It was used in legacy WAP 1.x mobile internet stacks to deliver vCalendar data over secure WAP sessions via WAP gateways.
- Real-world implementations included vendor gateways such as Nokia WAP Gateway (e.g., Nokia WAP Gateway 2.0), Openwave Mobile Access Gateway, and Ericsson WAP Gateway; the open-source Kannel WAP/SMS gateway also supported WAP well-known ports in some deployments.
- This port is rarely seen today because WAP 2.0 and modern devices moved such content to standard HTTP/HTTPS (80/443).
