TCP 9060

ProtocolTCP
Port9060
LabelsWebSphere Application Server Administration Console

Synopsis

  • IBM WebSphere Application Server commonly uses TCP 9060 for its administrative console over HTTP (the default HTTPS admin port is 9043). Example: a default WAS profile exposes http://host:9060/ibm/console.
  • Software built on WebSphere often inherits this default admin HTTP port unless changed, including IBM WebSphere Portal, IBM Maximo Asset Management, IBM Connections, and IBM InfoSphere Information Server.
  • In real deployments, administrators frequently reconfigure or disable 9060 in favor of 9043 (TLS) or custom ports, but many legacy and lab systems still expose 9060.
  • Security note: Attackers scan 9060 for exposed WebSphere admin consoles to try default/weak credentials and exploit known WAS vulnerabilities; restrict access or disable plain HTTP.
