Synopsis

  • Commvault (formerly Simpana) uses TCP port 8401 for its EvMgrC (Event Manager Client) service.
  • In typical deployments, Commvault clients and MediaAgents listen on 8401/TCP to receive event/control messages from the CommServe; for example, a Windows or Linux Commvault client will have CVD on 8400/TCP and EvMgrC on 8401/TCP for normal backup operations.
