Synopsis

  • NATS Server (nats-server, formerly gnatsd) exposes an HTTP monitoring interface on TCP port 8222 by default (endpoints such as /varz, /connz, /routez), and NATS Streaming Server (stan) uses the same default monitoring port.
  • VMware Server 2.x used TCP 8222 for its Web Access management UI over HTTP (with 8333 for HTTPS).
  • Hacking note: VMware Server 2.x is end-of-life and had multiple public vulnerabilities; internet-exposed 8222 Web Access has been scanned and exploited historically.
