TCP 5357
Synopsis
- TCP port 5357 is used by Microsoft Web Services for Devices (WSDAPI) to host WSD device endpoints over HTTP.
- Windows Vista/7/8/10/11 and Windows Server listen on 5357 via the WSDAPI service to communicate with devices discovered using WS-Discovery (UDP 3702).
- WSD-Print and WSD-Scan use port 5357 for print and scan jobs when printers/scanners are added as WSD devices in Windows.
- The Windows Print Spooler and Windows Fax and Scan use this port when talking to WSD-Print/WSD-Scan devices.
- Many network printers expose a WSD HTTP endpoint on 5357, including HP LaserJet/OfficeJet, Brother, Canon imageRUNNER, and Epson models.
- Some implementations also use TCP 5358 as the HTTPS counterpart for WSD services, with 5357 remaining the HTTP port.
