UDP 5150
Synopsis
- UDP port 5150 is registered for Ascend Tunnel Management Protocol (ATMP), defined in RFC 2107.
- It was used by Ascend Communications (later Lucent) remote-access/VPN gear—e.g., Ascend MAX/Max TNT remote access concentrators and Ascend Pipeline ISDN routers—for tunnel setup/control.
- ISPs and enterprises deployed ATMP on these devices in the late 1990s/early 2000s; some legacy networks may still expose UDP/5150 for ATMP control channels.
- Beyond ATMP on Ascend/Lucent equipment, there are no widely used modern systems known to rely on UDP 5150.
- It is not commonly associated with hacking or exploitation in mainstream reports.
