  • FreeSWITCH uses UDP port 5080 by default for its external SIP profile (mod_sofia), handling SIP signaling on that port.
  • FusionPBX (a FreeSWITCH-based PBX) ships with the same default, listening on UDP/5080 for its external SIP profile.
  • As a result, real-world VoIP deployments using FreeSWITCH/FusionPBX commonly carry SIP REGISTER/INVITE traffic over UDP/5080.
  • Because UDP/5080 is a known alternate SIP port, it is frequently targeted by SIP scanners and toll-fraud attempts (e.g., brute-force REGISTER/INVITE attacks).
