TCP 37777
Synopsis
- TCP port 37777 is the default remote service port for Dahua Technology DVRs, NVRs, and many Dahua IP cameras, using the Dahua/NetSDK (often called the Dahua “private” or DHIP) protocol.
- Dahua clients like SmartPSS and DSS, and the DMSS mobile apps (gDMSS/iDMSS), connect to devices via 37777 for live view, playback, and configuration.
- Many OEM/rebranded systems based on Dahua firmware also use 37777, including numerous models sold under Lorex, Amcrest, IC Realtime, and Q-See.
- Internet scanners (e.g., Shodan) and Nmap commonly label 37777/tcp on these devices as a DVR remote protocol.
- This port has been associated with hacking/exploitation: multiple widely reported Dahua vulnerabilities and mass‑scanning campaigns targeted the 37777 service for authentication bypass or remote access on exposed DVR/NVRs.
- Some third‑party VMS tools support Dahua devices over 37777 when using the Dahua protocol instead of ONVIF/RTSP.
