TCP 3308
Synopsis
- TCP 3308 is used by SAP Gateway service “sapgw08,” part of SAP NetWeaver application servers (ABAP/Java) for RFC and CPI-C communications when the instance number is 08.
- In SAP systems each instance listens on 33NN, so an SAP ECC or S/4HANA app server with instance 08 exposes TCP 3308 for gateway traffic, including external program registration.
- Example: an SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP instance DVEBMGS08 will have its gateway on port 3308 (sapgw08).
- Security note: misconfigured SAP Gateways have been exploited (e.g., techniques popularized by “10KBLAZE”) to register external programs and gain remote code execution; attackers scan the 3300–3399 range, including 3308.
