TCP 30303
Synopsis
- TCP port 30303 is the default peer-to-peer port for Ethereum’s devp2p protocol, used by clients such as Go Ethereum (geth), OpenEthereum/Parity, Nethermind, Erigon, Hyperledger Besu, and Reth on Ethereum mainnet and testnets (e.g., Goerli/Sepolia).
- Ethereum Classic nodes and enterprise/derivative EVM networks based on these clients also use it by default, including Quorum (geth/Besu-based), Binance Smart Chain (geth-based), and Polygon’s Bor (geth-based).
- This port is often scanned on the internet to discover Ethereum nodes, and has been targeted in past P2P-layer denial-of-service campaigns against Ethereum clients.
