Synopsis

  • TCP port 10050 is the default listening port for the Zabbix Agent (zabbix-agent and zabbix-agent2) used by the Zabbix monitoring platform.
  • Zabbix servers/proxies connect to hosts’ agents on 10050 to collect metrics and run checks; for example, enterprises monitor Linux web servers, Windows servers, and database hosts via the Zabbix agent on this port.
  • The agent packages shipped for major OSes (e.g., RHEL/CentOS, Debian/Ubuntu, Windows) commonly listen on 0.0.0.0:10050 unless restricted by configuration.
  • Hacking/exploitation: Port 10050 is routinely scanned; exposed or misconfigured Zabbix agents (e.g., permissive Server/AllowedIP settings and enabling system.run) have been abused for remote command execution and information disclosure.
