Lantronix device servers (e.g., EDS8/16/32, EDS4100, SLC 8000, ETS series, and XPort-based products) map each serial channel to TCP 10000+N by default, so TCP 10005 provides raw/Telnet/RFC2217 access to serial port 5.
In real deployments, POS terminals, industrial controllers, and lab instruments connected via these Lantronix gateways are accessed on TCP 10001–100xx; 10005 is commonly the fifth serial port on multi-port models.
When exposed to the internet without authentication, these Lantronix raw TCP ports (including 10005) have been abused to issue commands to attached serial equipment.
